Ad-Libs

This past weekend I went to a Mouth for Ad-Libs and it was absolutely hilarious! I went with a group of people and everyone had a really good time. Mouth is fairly new so a lot of people are not very familiar with it. The staff was very friendly and facility was clean.  It’s located at 2626 Main Street in Dallas. It’s closely located to a few restaurants which is very convenient. We ate at Zini’s Pizzeria which was not too bad.  Ad-Libs has shows every Friday and Saturday night at 9pm. The tickets are $18 with reservations and $20 at the door.

Ad-Libs™ is an American Comedy Improv Troupe performing since 1986. The comedy’s subject matter uniquely blends video, scripted & improvisational comedy with plenty of audience participation. This creates a fun and interactive environment for each show.

Affordable Yoga

I started taking Yoga classes last year and immediately loved it. For all of my life I had been doing high intensity workouts. I thought if you weren’t moving fast and sweating  then you were not really getting a good workout. My trainer recommended I add yoga to my regimen, so I did. After the class, I could feel that my body had loosened up and I felt mentally refreshed too.

Yoga is a great way for me to get my mind of the daily stresses and really focus on something else. It’s like a one hour mental vacation that I really need to take more regularly. It definitely helps me feel less anxious and tense all the time.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to afford Yoga for the past 6 months. I was telling my friend about this and she mentioned Dirt Cheap Yoga. Classes are only $8 a session and or $55 a month unlimited access. They have 4 locations, Reverchon Park, Mighty Fine Arts, Exall Park Rec Center, and Kidd Springs Rec Center.

Dirt Cheap Yoga is non-profit organization on a mission to bring yoga to the masses.  They are just trying to make yoga feasible for those who can’t afford a regular class.

Have you done yoga before? If so, where do you like to take classes?

Lookin’ Younger Made Easy. . .

I was talking to my sister the other day and she was complaining about how old she looked. I personally think she looks younger for her age, but she doesn’t see it. I sent her this article that I read this morning on tips that help you look younger.

I thought all the lovely ladies out there would find these tips very beneficial. I see women make these mistakes all the time. They try to look younger, but end up adding 5-10 years.

Below are my top 3 tips for looking younger:

  1. Wear Less Makeup. This gives off a softer, younger look. When ladies wear too much makeup it ends up making wrinkles stick out more.
  2. Whiten Your Teeth. Younger people tend to have whiter teeth. We don’t want your smile to give your age away.
  3. Use products with silicone. Primers and serums with the ingredient temporarily fill in fine lines.

What other tips do you have?

Where Would You Road Trip-It?

I was doing my morning reading and found this article on the top places to take road trips in America. The places ranged from California to Montana to Georgia to Hawaii. Below are the top 5 that I picked:

  • Big Sur, California – It’s about 90 miles along the central coast from San Simeon to Carmel. It is sandwiched between the Santa Lucia mountains and the Pacific
  • Hana Highway, Hawaii – Driving Maui’s serpentine Hana Highway on the rural east side of the island provides a feel for Hawaii’s real beauty.
  • Million Dollar Highway, Colorado - It’s a 24-mile stretch of the U.S. 550. It takes people back in time to when the West was still wild. You will find wildflowers during the spring, sustains elk, mountain goats, black bears, and deer.
  • Seward Highway, Alaska – This compact swath encompasses boreal forests, mammoth glaciers, and majestic fjords.
  • Sonoma and Napa Valleys, California – Road trips through the neighboring valleys of Sonoma and Napa can be a very diverse if you want it to be.  There are historic spots and quiet nature alongside the luxury standouts, so you can enjoy the best of both worlds.

Out of all of these I would pick Hana Highway, Hawaii. The famous road, also called the Road to Hana, starts in the town of Paia (about a 40-minute drive from Maui’s more developed southwest area) and winds down the east coast for 60 miles. I love the water and rain forest that are along the way.

If you had a choice which road trio would you take?

5 Simple Tips to Clean Your Bathroom Less

May 12, 2010 by Nisha

The one thing I hate cleaning is the bathroom. I don’t mind scrubbing the kitchen wiping the blinds down, or vacuuming. I don’t know why, but the bathroom is not my thing. I ran into this awesome article on Yahoo! about easy tips so that you can clean your bathroom less often. My top 5 tips that I picked out of the list are:

  1. Use liquid body soap instead of a bar. The liquid soap will reduce the soap build up on your shower walls and the drain.
  2. Shake or “punch” your shower curtain after you have gotten out of the shower. This will help reduce mildew buildup.
  3. Swish your toilet every day without using a cleaner. By just taking a minute to swirl your toilet brush you can increase the time in between cleanings by a week or more.
  4. Keep a small hand held, battery operated vacuum in the bathroom. Vacuum up hair and dust quickly and you can skip a few more days before you have to wash it.
  5. Shake your area rugs out daily. Just a quick shake will remove the hair and keep the rug looking clean.

All of these do take up extra time daily, but it beats waiting until everything is built up and you are stuck with cleaning dirt, hair and mildew all together.

Do you find these tips useful?
